Nicholas Cottam

Credentials: PhD

Hi my name is Nicholas Cottam, and I am a T32 Postdoctoral Trainee working with Drs. Brittany Travers and Andrew Alexander. During my PhD, I used diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) and tractography to understand changes in the cerebellum of mouse models with spinal muscular atrophy. I continue to work on improving, expanding, and automating the analyses applied in those studies. At Waisman, my research focuses on investigating how neuroinflammation might influence negative autism experiences, as well as how cerebellar microstructure relates to measures of autism features. Aside from science, I enjoy sports, video games, working on cars, and quality time with friends and family most of all.
