Nick Cottam

Hi my name is Nick and I am a postdoctoral Research Associate in the Motor and Brain Development Laboratory. A large portion of my PhD research consisted of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) and deterministic tractography to understand cerebellar defects in mouse models of spinal muscular atrophy. Since then, my focus has been on improving, expanding, and automating the analyses applied in those studies. In the future, I am interested in applying these techniques to understand ASD white matter characteristics and their potential relationship to behavior. Aside from science, I enjoy sports, video games, and quality time with friends and family.
